This medal is an award given by the International Limnology Organization to outstanding scientists in the field of limnology (exploration of lakes and streams). It is stipulated that each year only one medal will be awarded, and the year, 2020, the medal will be awarded to Israeli scientist, Tamar Zohar . Accordingly, each scientist receives the medal at each conference. Tamar was to receive the medal at a conference in South Korea in 2020 but because of the Corona conference was postponed to 2021.
