intruders in the see of galilee

Our Sea of Galilee entered an invasive species (a species that causes the death of all animals that live in a certain environment and dominates the area). In 1975, five species of snails in the Sea of Galilee were reported by Eitan Tsernov, which were around 1.5 million years old! (A tower, a crescent, a snare, a tiny house and a hornet of the Jordan) And one day, our invading snail invades Thiara Scabra through the aquarium industry (this used snail to clean the aquariums) . In 2007, Hank Maines first reported the presence of an invading snail in the southern Sea of Galilee and in 2010 Tamar Zohar Yossi Heller Gideon Gal and Adina Dolev documented and currently the invading species accounts for 99% -90% of all snails. Sea snails in the Sea of Galilee do not play an important role in the food chain, so this issue is not considered so important, but there is one thing that needs to be emphasized is the transfer of parasites. These snails eat parasitic worms and fish eat the snails so some fish can be harmed because we don't have a way to treat a parasite we don't know (we won't have the cure for it). With these snails but still need to be followed for the parasites.

Spacial thank for Dr. Tamar Zohari for the very interesting  ZOOM  lecture for all of our class  during the coronavirus quarantine time .
